I now have a new favourite thing to do on a Saturday night and its definitely a treat, girly night in with a friend and baking Cookies. I think its going to have to become a regular activity. We had a giggle and gossip, all with the added bonus of homemade chocolatey hazelnut goodness. We found this amazing Four Ingredient Recipe on Manila Spoon and the only way to describe them is simply incredible.
For the Cookies:
- 1 Cup Nutella
- 1 Egg
- 1/2 Cup + 2 tbsp Plain Flour
- 1/2 Cup Chocolate Chips
Preheat the oven to 180C (350F).
Mix the Flour, Egg and Nutella in a mixing bowl until it forms a dough, you want no Flour lumps in the dough. Then combine the Chocolate Chips until incorporated into the dough.
We used a measuring tbsp to scoop out each amount of dough so each of our dough balls would be roughly the same size. Our batch made 14 cookies (but we weren’t particularly good at the sizing).
These were placed on a baking tray lined with greaseproof paper- don’t put them too close together, they will spread. You can flatten the dough balls slightly with a fork before baking if you like but we decided to leave ours round, we wanted nice chunky cookies.
Put the baking tray in the oven and bake for around 10 minutes, as usual I watched mine like a hawk due to the extreme heat of my oven. I probably left mine maybe a minute too long as they had started to slightly burn on the edges- the cookies will be soft when you remove them from the oven, they harden as they cool. Once out of the oven, leave the cookies to cool on the baking tray for a few minutes before transferring to a cooling rack, this way they’ll be slightly harder so easier to remove from the tray.
Leave to cool on a wire rack until you want to eat them. Word of warning, the smell of the cookies is intoxicating and you will want to eat them straight away. And you should, they are lovely once cool but even more yummy when still slightly warm. These are the most chewy and chocolately cookies I have had in a long while, and really took no time to make. Needless to say the cookies didn’t last long in my house, less than 24 hours later and they’re all gone, think I’ll be popping out to buy more Nutella this week!
Thank you for reading, and enjoy if you decide to give these a try yourself!
